I am an avid gardener with a large 500’ waterfront perennial garden. These shoes have room for my toes, they are flexible and grounded! I had used shoes that did this, but they were not waterproof. Now I have a pair that does it all! I do not have to garden with wet feet anymore. They clean up easily, look great and feel even better. I look forward to taking these shoes on my next hiking adventure.

I am loving these boots so far. My recent ankle surgery is making them difficult to get on my swollen ankle. I feel the opening for the boot should be wider. Once I struggle through that and they are on my feet, they fit perfectly. I was worried about the size. I wore Altras for years and wore a size 10. With these I am a size 9. I know I am a true 9.5 but this 9 fits like a glove with room for my toes. (Hope this helps someone with fit) The boots are sturdier than I imagined, but I am happy with this. I didn’t want something so flimsy because I want to be able to hike in these when my ankle heals and these will definitely be awesome for hiking. I don’t care so much about the waterproof feature, and wish instead you would focus on making BREATHABLE boots. Lots of airflow. I saw this one company and every step circulates air through the shoe. I think this is an excellent idea. My feet sweat a lot and I don’t wear sandals. Please consider this for future products! The flex and ground feel with the boots is great. They do seem like a true hybrid barefoot shoe. The lugs on the bottom are spaced out but maybe too much so. My driveway is gravel and the small rocks get stuck in the tread and I have to pick them out with my hands (sometimes). Something to think about… As far as the conductivity, I tried using a continuity tester but wasn’t sure if it was working or not. I used wool/polyamide socks and couldn’t tell if I was grounded or not. Maybe they need more grounding treads on the bottom. I will continue testing this feature. For my swollen foot, the shoelaces are barely long enough. My other foot, they are plenty long. These boots have a very nice look and I am happy with them. I tried them on wet rock and it was a little on the slick side. I think if you added more siping (similar to how astral shoes does) they would be unstoppable. These mentioned features would make a perfect boot. Cheers

Rediscover Grounding Barefoot Hiking Boot (Women's) - Bark

I went trekking 2 times after buying the boots. It was perfect. They're really a good mix of bare foot style and classic trekking boots.

A wet and windy Bodmin Moor was the location for the first hike with my new Rediscovers. I had worn them for a couple of weeks previously, to wear them in and get used to the fit. I like the wide toe box and the advise of sizing down from your regular size was true for me. The boot has good ankle support and I like the lacing system. I am however disappointed to report I did not find them ‘waterproof’, I had water ingress within two miles, and both boots were absolutely soaked by the end of my 8 mile hike. At no point did I go into water over my ankles and I was wearing goretex over trou, so the boots let the water in….they are not waterproof as advertised. The soles were good for grip on the wet track and grass, but they did slip a few times on rock and scree, despite being slippy, they had good dexterity. Throughout my hike and despite the boots being wet, they were comfortable and supportive, so for this reason I give them a five out of ten. I judge them suitable for day walks in dry conditions, I wouldn’t wear them on multi day events or in any wet conditions. I’m disappointed, the Rediscover are advertised as being waterproof, I found them the opposite, and for the cost of them, I’d expect them to perform as advertised.
