Welcome to the Bahé Pro Movement
Welcome to the Bahé Pro Movement, the hub where health professionals can access comprehensive educational resources that deepen their understanding of natural foot health and empower them to guide their clients through an informed transition to healthier feet.
the most advanced technology ever put into a shoe ...is the human foot
so why wear shoes that inhibit how your feet can feel and perform?
the problem with 'normal' shoes
Raised Heels
Lead to shortening of the Achilles tendon and calf muscles, disrupting posture and tipping the body forward, which can create additional misalignment. This can also increase strain on the knees and lower back over time
Narrow Toeboxes
Severely inhibit natural foot function by preventing the toes from articulating, splaying, and effectively absorbing load or generating force. They also reduce overall stability, making balance and proper gait patterns harder to maintain
Stiff Soles
Prevent the foot from moving naturally, leading to reduced foot strength and increased foot stiffness. They also reduce sensory feedback from the ground, making it harder for the body to react and adapt to changes in terrain
Toe Spring
Holds the toes in a lifted position, preventing proper articulation during the gait cycle. This stops the toes from engaging with the ground, reducing stability and the foot’s natural ability to load, balance and propel the body forwards
Bahé shoes allow your feet to move, spread and flex = natural movement, unlocked !

Rediscovering
natural movement
We didn’t evolve wearing shoes, yet over the last few centuries we’ve become accustomed to wearing footwear that is often stiff, narrow and excessively supportive and cushioned. In doing so, our foot function has been compromised.
By going barefoot, or wearing more natural footwear, we can re-strengthen, re-mobilise and truly re-discover our natural foot function and restore much of our body’s ability to move as it should.
benefits of barefoot shoes
Pairing barefoot or natural footwear with restorative exercises helps restore healthy mechanics and boost overall physical performance
Restored Posture
By having a flat sole our joints can return to natural alignment during rest and movement
Enhanced Flexibility
With flexible soles, our toes, ankles and hips can move through a greater range of motion
Improved Balance
Strengthening the arches of our feet, along with the rest of our body, naturally enhances balance
key features of barefoot shoes
Foot-shaped
Allowing your toes to spread naturally so they can absorb load properly and generate power more efficiently
Flexible
Enabling the 33 joints of the foot to move as they should, allowing correct foot function throughout the gait cycle
Zero-drop
Restoring a more natural posture, allowing your body to align correctly and distribute load more effectively
Transitioning to natural footwear isn't a race

FAQs
The Bahé Pro Movement is an initiative designed for health professionals who support patient populations that would benefit from wearing Bahé footwear. The programme provides practitioners with a unique patient discount code, helping make the transition more accessible. Professionals may also choose to receive an optional commission as a thank-you for the time, care, and education they provide to their patients. Professionals can also access comprehensive educational resources that deepen their understanding of natural foot health and empower them to guide their clients through an informed transition to healthier feet.
Health professionals who work with patient populations that would benefit from wearing barefoot and/or grounded footwear. This includes (but is not limited to); physiotherapists, podiatrists, chiropodists, osteopaths, chiropractors, soft tissue therapists, strength and conditioning coaches, personal trainers, sports medicine practitioners, occupational therapists, sports therapists, Pilates instructors and yoga teachers.
Participation in the Bahé Pro Movement is intended for professionals who are qualified and appropriately insured to provide movement or footwear-related guidance within their scope of practice.
A gradual transition is important because barefoot and grounded footwear places different demands on the feet and body than conventional shoes. Reducing cushioning and heel elevation can support more natural movement, but the muscles, tendons, and joints need time to adapt. Transitioning too quickly may increase the risk of discomfort or overuse injuries. A gradual approach helps the body adapt safely, improves comfort, and supports long-term success. The Bahé Modes concept supports this gradual approach, allowing patients to begin with the more cushioned Endurance style, while still benefiting from a zero-drop, flexible, wide toe box design, before progressively transitioning to lower-cushion options such as the Adapt and, ultimately, the most minimal Flex style.
Barefoot and grounded shoes benefit patients who are seeking to improve foot strength, balance, posture, and overall movement quality.
This can include individuals who:
- Experience reduced foot strength or mobility.
- Are returning to activity after injury and are ready for a gradual transition.
- Spend long periods standing or walking.
- Are interested in improving gait awareness and natural movement patterns.
- Experience chronic foot pain, stiffness or deformity that could be attributed to conventional footwear.
If your patient is new to barefoot shoes, a gradual, professionally guided transition is recommended. At Bahé, we offer transitional options such as different levels of sole cushioning, a modular design and heel raises to ensure the transition for people is as seamless as possible.
Except in quite specific cases, we believe that barefoot-style shoes would be beneficial for everyone. Please do, however, use your clinical reasoning to determine whether our footwear is the best option for your client.
There is no inherent risk to grounding, however we remind customers that our shoes are conductive and should not be used where there could be any exposed live electric apparatus.
The educational resources include printable PDF guides covering safe transitioning and grounding, as well as short videos explaining Bahé’s unique Modes concept, how to use our size guide, and common limitations of conventional footwear. These resources are updated regularly to ensure information remains current and relevant.
