I'm a conservation scientist who needed new shoes for long days of field work, and these are by far the most comfortable and well-thought out version of barefoot-style hiking boots I have found! I love the cushioning (shockingly good for how thin it looks), and I'm so impressed by how much flex they manage to keep while still staying comfortably cushioned through hiking and crouching for 12 hour days. I was nervous about the traction these would be able to achieve because of the unusual tread, but they've been fantastic so far- I think the tread and the flex really work hard to give you a lot of grip on event the slickest substrates. I also love the rubberized toe caps, because I think these are a necessity when it comes to expanding the life of the shoes when in rugged conditions. I've been working these shoes hard for about a 2 weeks now, and I only hope they can hold up in the longer term. I'm optimistic because wear and tear so far has been pretty minimal overall!

I have a few suggestions for the next version that would make these shoes perfect (for me):
1) They can be a little hard to get on and off, so I wish that the first eyelet at the top (by the ankle), was replaced by a hook instead. I think this would give a better fast-release around the ankle and let you get your swollen feet out more easily at the end of a long day.
2) There's a stretch of material that connects the tongue of the shoe to where the eyelets are. I love this feature to keep stuff out of my shoes, but I wish it was a different material, as the current soft-leathery-material scratches and peels quite easily when it comes in contact with sharp rocks or thorns or weeds. This has been the only wear-and-tear I've seen so far.
3) I work in desert conditions, and I wish there was an option that ISN'T waterproof. I know this is a niche preference thing that is hard to find in any hiking boots, but I still wish it was an option for increased breathability!

Comfortable Boot - waterproof

Light, feels barefoot, warm, waterproof, it has it all, quite amazing for hiking boots!

Normally I am a women's sized 8.5/9 US and I ended up with a size 8 US barefoot boot. Once broken in, my new barefoot grounding hiking boots fit like a glove and have been nice and waterproof in the wet and snowy conditions in CO. Additionally, I struggled with sizing and Bahe customer service was beyond helpful getting everything straightened out. Thank you for your help and your products! I have been enjoying being able to support grounding even in the frigid temps of winter.

Shoes are very comfortable, solid, pretty and feels stable.
my personal issue is my very high foot-bridge (upper side of the foot) that makes it really hard to enter the shoe, but once I'm in, all is OK. Maybe you should consider taking this into account in future design...???
