FAQ

Q: Do your shoes fit true to size? Can I order my normal size?

As there are inconsistencies between different brands, it’s not always reliable to rely on ordering your usual size. We’d always recommend using our Size Guide to check the fit and avoid unnecessary returns, especially as our barefoot-style shoes do fit slightly larger than other brands offering this kind of product. Please read our other FAQs for more insight into sizing.

Q: I’m between sizes, which should I go for?

If you’re looking at our Recharge style we suggest going for the size up.

On all other styles, we suggest going for the size down.

Q: Are all your shoes the same sizing?

No, we have some different fits, so check the size chart that corresponds with the shoe you’re ordering.

Q: Is there a difference between the mens and womens sizing?

We have different size charts as the same shoes are considered different sizes between men and women in the US and Australia. The fit of both mens and womens shoes is the same.

Q: How much room should I have in front of my toes?

This is personal preference, however we suggest between 5-10mm. A good way to check is to put on a pair of shoes that fit you well and assess the space you have on these. You can do this whilst wearing the shoes, or even slip the insole out and place your foot on them with your heel at the back and check the space you have in front of your toes.

If checking the sandal size guide, please remember you’ll want space at the back of the footbed as well as the front.

Q: I don’t have a printer, what shall i do?

Not to worry, the next best thing is to stand against a wall and simply place your foot on a piece of paper and draw around it. Then to measure the length and ideally the width of your foot. Depending on preference, you’ll want around 5-10mm space in front of your toes, so check our size guide for the length that corresponds best with that.

A good tip is to draw around your foot whilst wearing the kind of socks you’d intend to wear with the shoes you’re ordering.

Q: The size guide keeps cutting off part of the shape when printing, what shall I do?

If the top part of the page printed OK then you can still check the width is a good fit. To check the length, we’d suggest following the method described in

Q: The size guide isn’t printing to scale, what should I do?

Without the correct scale the size guide won’t be useful for sizing purposes, but it’s always handy to be able to assess the general shape. To check your size we’d suggest following the method described in.

Q: Should my foot match the length mentioned in the size chart?

No, you will need some space in front of your shoes. We’d suggest 5-10mm depending on preference.

Comfy and stylish

I've been wearing my Rediscover boots for a month now to march around London when working, I've easily walked 5 miles three times a week in these boots, with no blisters, no pinching.

I've struggled with finding shoes I can comfortably walk and work in, but I think I've finally found a winner.

The forest colour is lush and the black surround makes them easy to clean.

Wondering how they will work in the warmer weather.

Love these boots!

Out of the box, walked 3 miles in snowy Montana. No break in period. So comfortable!
Then took them to Paris, and walked over 25 miles. My feet never felt better. Even stayed dry in the rain. Love these boots! Thank you for making them. I am normally a US Women’s size 8. After using the foot template guide, I ordered a size 7. They are perfect.

Hi Ann, this is great to hear! It sounds like your boots are well travelled already. We hope you continue to enjoy them!

The shoe has a wide toe box which I love, and traction is great for a minimal shoe. But I tested the grounding ability and even without socks it’s not grounded which was very disappointing

Wore them Nordic walking last week in a very wet area and they didn't leak! They are comfortable (took about 3 wears to adapt) - I had trouble with getting the laces tighter at the front but ok now.

Not for high volume feet

I wished I had returned these boots. Like almost every barefoot shoe brand, these are not designed for people with high instep or high volume feet. It was very hard to put the shoes on even with the laces totally loosened. Then, the shoes felt tight around the instep even after wearing. I thought I had to wear them to break them in but after 2 hikes and some regular walking, these books are still very stiff and I feel my feet being compressed downwards.

I also feel that the ankle area lack padding. I feel bruised around the ankles if I tie the laces tighter. But if the laces were looser, I would be sliding around in the shoes and got blisters. The shoes could also be wider.

Overall, I feel rather disappointed because the shoes appeared well constructed but they turned out to be really uncomfortable for me, and an expensive mistake.

Hi there, thanks for your order and we're sorry to hear the boots aren't currently working well for your higher volume feet, we do have some suggestions which we hope will make them much more comfortable for you. These boots are designed to be 'modular' and can be worn with or without the insock. As you seem experienced with barefoot style shoes, we'd advise removing the insocks which will give you significantly more room in the boots and even more ground feel. This will also make it easier for you to get the boots on. Although we designed the boots to be as flexible as possible (whilst also being durable and well constructed), they do become more and more flexible over time, so hopefully if you can wear them without the insock you'll find that soon they work much better for you.
