FAQ

Q: Do your shoes fit true to size? Can I order my normal size?

As there are inconsistencies between different brands, it’s not always reliable to rely on ordering your usual size. We’d always recommend using our Size Guide to check the fit and avoid unnecessary returns, especially as our barefoot-style shoes do fit slightly larger than other brands offering this kind of product. Please read our other FAQs for more insight into sizing.

Q: I’m between sizes, which should I go for?

If you’re looking at our Recharge style we suggest going for the size up.

On all other styles, we suggest going for the size down.

Q: Are all your shoes the same sizing?

No, we have some different fits, so check the size chart that corresponds with the shoe you’re ordering.

Q: Is there a difference between the mens and womens sizing?

We have different size charts as the same shoes are considered different sizes between men and women in the US and Australia. The fit of both mens and womens shoes is the same.

Q: How much room should I have in front of my toes?

This is personal preference, however we suggest between 5-10mm. A good way to check is to put on a pair of shoes that fit you well and assess the space you have on these. You can do this whilst wearing the shoes, or even slip the insole out and place your foot on them with your heel at the back and check the space you have in front of your toes.

If checking the sandal size guide, please remember you’ll want space at the back of the footbed as well as the front.

Q: I don’t have a printer, what shall i do?

Not to worry, the next best thing is to stand against a wall and simply place your foot on a piece of paper and draw around it. Then to measure the length and ideally the width of your foot. Depending on preference, you’ll want around 5-10mm space in front of your toes, so check our size guide for the length that corresponds best with that.

A good tip is to draw around your foot whilst wearing the kind of socks you’d intend to wear with the shoes you’re ordering.

Q: The size guide keeps cutting off part of the shape when printing, what shall I do?

If the top part of the page printed OK then you can still check the width is a good fit. To check the length, we’d suggest following the method described in

Q: The size guide isn’t printing to scale, what should I do?

Without the correct scale the size guide won’t be useful for sizing purposes, but it’s always handy to be able to assess the general shape. To check your size we’d suggest following the method described in.

Q: Should my foot match the length mentioned in the size chart?

No, you will need some space in front of your shoes. We’d suggest 5-10mm depending on preference.

Got my Rediscover trailer shoes and very happy with them.Wear a size 9 USA and followed their advice and went with size 8,great fit and plenty of room for the toes and shipping was faster than expected.Great product.

Don’t be fooled on the tightness.

Style: I loved the look of these before I bought them and close up they don’t disappoint - will be swapping the laces to the orange.

Quality: Yup they’re expensive but they are rock solid. You can see a lot of time has gone into these. You can see from one of the pictures that they pass the conductivity test. Not sure about long walks or the waterproofing yet.

Fit: I’m usually a size 8 occasionally 8.5 for hiking boots. Went with a 7 for these after trying the size guide. Out of the box they are the same size as my ZAQQ or Xero shoes boots size 8. Initially, I was disappointed when I tried to put them on though - it was tough to get my foot in (two hands and a couple of minutes later). Once in they felt a little tight. Should I have got a size 8 I thought? Is the entrance too small? It turns out no. I’ve been wearing them around the house and taking the boots on and off occasionally. Already, after a couple of hours, the boots are loosening up and I can easily get them on with one hand and when standing push my foot into the boot to get it on. I expect this to continue and get better. Maybe the initial tightness is a sign of how well they’re made and how new they are. So my advice is to be a little patient. To Bahe - maybe half sizes would be good 👍

Great Hiking Boot!

I’ve had these a few weeks now and can say they are very comfortable right out of the box. They have a nice deep tread pattern and have good grip for hiking on wet rocks and other rough surfaces. The shape of the shoe fits my feet very well and the construction of it seems like they will last a very long time. Like some of the other reviews mentioned they can be tight around the ankles, I just keep the laces looser at that point and they can slip right on. The nice part is I can leave them looser to slip on easier most days, but for more technical times tighten them up for better support. I’d highly recommend these!

Thanks for the feedback Ryan, very useful. We've made the ankle opening a bit more generous on our latest production runs to help make them even easier to slip on and off.

Not very happy

Of course I value the grounding aspect, this is why I bought them. But it is hard to get my feet in and out of the boots, a real struggle each time. Also, they are not comfortable around the ankle as there are pressure points that hurt. Painful hiking boots are never a good thing. I've worn them outside so I don't expect to return them for my money back, but they are really not comfortable.

Hi Christy, thank you for your feedback. From other customers and our own experience with the boots, the collar will soften with wear. Our aim was to find the right balance of support and flexibility so understand that will vary a little person to person. We hope you continue to wear your boots and would love to hear how you find them. Regarding the opening, this is useful feedback and for our latest production run we have extended the opening to be larger.
